About the in-person Heart of Awakening gatherings - currently on hold
The Heart of Awakening (established October 2015) is designed to help each of us to learn how to become increasingly conscious conduits of Light, Love, and Divine Power in this world. We will be diving into the philosophical depths of the yogic and Tantric tradition, as well as other spiritual paths. We will be working with the breath, movement, sound, and music. We will deepen our ability to sense and skillfully invoke the universal Life Force as it manifests in and through our own bodies and the bodies of others. We will also be meditating together and we will be doing group processes and partner exercises.
Here is how I envision the goals of our work together: I see us coming together to consciously manifest a space of the Heart – an energetic matrix that is co-created by the shared intentions of all those who are participating, an environment that supports each of us in our process of awakening. I’m envisioning a circle of spiritual practitioners who want to practice being Buddhas here on this earth, who want to realize their heritage as Sons and Daughters of God and the divine Mother, who want to explore that fertile intersection of what it means to be fully human and fully divine, simultaneously.
Let’s come together to deepen our awareness, moment to moment; to open our hearts to the wellspring of compassion and love within us; to playfully free our bodies from the constrictive armoring that keeps us from living life fully and joyfully; to face the hidden places of suffering within us that all too often close our hearts and cloud our minds, and yet nonetheless still long for the Light.
Let’s come together to joyfully learn how to live in the Present: in the Presence of the Divine Mother, in the Presence of our Buddha nature, in the Presence of the Christ Consciousness, in the Presence of all of the Beings of Light who accompany us on our journey of self-discovery, healing, and service to others and the planet. Together, let’s uncover and manifest that ever-present Heart of All.
This is the intention that I am holding for all of us. But what ultimately gets created will be the shared result of our mutual intention to come together – and this intention itself will inevitably create something more, something unexpected. I look forward to participating in what manifests in and through each one of us.
Practical Details
Bring a bottle of water, a cushion, yoga mat and perhaps a journal and a pen.

The suggested donation for a single drop-in is $60, but give what you are able to give.

Location
Heart of Awakening gatherings are held at the Dallas Meditation Center. Our expansive, uplifting (and private) space is the perfect venue to work with the energies of transformation during our Heart of Awakening events. Abundant parking is available and you enter through the front door.
Description of the Summer 2023 series, Portals of Divinity (now complete):
Portals of Divinity was a new three-part Heart of Awakening series: “Portals into Divinity,” facilitated by Dr. Bill Barnard. This triadic, experiential/praxis-based immersion into the profound teachings of the Vijñana Bhairava, an ancient yogic/Tantric text that offers 112 “entryways” into our divine, essential nature, begins on June 4th with “The Way of Embodiment,” and then continues in July 9th with “The Way of Vision,” and ends on August 20th with “The Way of Presence.” You are encouraged to immerse yourself fully in this three-part unfolding series. Nonetheless, each gathering can be fruitfully experienced on its own.
